As I was thinking about a recipe to create for this week, I realized that I could really use some kind of natural self care product for my face because my skin has been breaking out a bit this week. I wanted to make something really simple with common ingredients. When I searched online I found a bunch of face mask recipes. There are TONS! So I chose the easiest and most delicious looking one I could find 🙂
Usually when I’m drawn to try something for some kind of healing benefit, I choose intuitively rather than based on data that’s meant to prove to me how good something is. If you’re a data person, you may enjoy this article here. This is also where I got the recipe from. Apparently there’s lots of data that says that coconut oil, raw honey, and lemon juice are all great for skin. This makes me happy!
Putting this mixture on my face was really fun and it made my skin feel very soft and smooth afterwards. It also feels like my blemishes are dissipating, so that’s awesome. It only took like 2 seconds to make it too. OK, maybe a minute. 🙂 If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to nourish your face, give this a try!

Mix everything up in a bowl
On a clean face, apply a thick layer and let it sit for 15 minutes.
*Note, you may be tempted to lick your face, and that’s OK! 🙂
This is what my face looked like with the mask on. It’s totally clear and kind of looks like I’m sweating profusely from close up. 🙂
Wash it off with cold water, then pat your face dry with a towel.
*Optional: Eat the rest! Seriously it’s delicious!

- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 2 teaspoons of raw honey
- 1/2 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Mix everything up in a bowl
